Great Waltham, Essex.
A distinctive grade II* listed private residence with four pairs of gracefull 16th Century chimney stacks, which double the height of the building.
The problem of access to repair the red brick chimneys was solved using cantilever scaffold to all 4 sets of chimenys, to avoid the risk of increased loading to the roof.
Weathered and spalled bricks were cut out by our craftsmen and replaced one at a time to maintain the stability of the structures. The new hand made red bricks were cut to shape on site, and are bedded in lime mortar.
